About Andrew Shurmer has been watching England play rugby
since 1977. He has stuck with them through their troughs and occasional
peaks and, as an occasional club player and qualified historian, his
thoughts eventually turned to the statistical side of the game. Thus in
2002 he set out to create a database of results involving the England
rugby teams. At first this was done purely as a private hobby but, when the extent of the task before him became apparent, it was put to Andrew that he might as well turn his hobby into a book which to share his knowledge with the rest of the world! Eventually, after seven years of extensive research in a variety of locations, Volume One of the England Rugby Chronicle was formally published on 4th November 2009. Anoeth Limited was set up by the author in August 2004
to provide accounts advice on a consultancy basis for small firms. This
gave him the freedom to continue his rugby based research. In August
2008, Anoeth Limited branched out into one-to-one History tutoring for
private clients and was then also registered as a publishing company in
May 2009. Its first publication is the England Rugby Chronicle since 1969 – Volume One: 1969-1990. |
